On April 16, 2017 Joseph R. "Porky" Shifflett Jr. beloved husband of Elizabeth S. Shifflett (nee Hartzell) and the late Jacqueline M. Shifflett (nee Messenger); devoted father of Deborah L. Davis and her husband Kim, Darrin L. Shifflett and his wife Pam, David E. Hauf, Denise M. Leach and her husband Scott, Shannon L. Hall and her husband Lou and the late Janet L. Ewing; father-in law of Richard Ewing; loving son of the late Joseph and Charlotte Shifflett Sr.; son-in-law of Margaret Hauf; dear brother of Janet Sexton, David Shifflett and his wife Linda and the late Marie Kraus; loving grandfather of Raymond, Meagan and Adrienne Shifflett, Jason Ewing and his wife Karrie, Stacy Zachry and her husband Paul, Adam Hauf, Danielle Keller, Ian Leach and Alex and Jacob Hall; great grandfather of Hailey and Julian Shifflett, Leilani and Aria Ewing and Aidan Osborne. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

A Catholic Prayer service will be held at the Connelly Funeral Home of Essex, 300 Mace Avenue on Friday at 11 am. Visiting hours on Thursday 3-5 and 7-9 pm. Interment Holly Hill Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers. Contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Association at http://www.alz.org/maryland/
