On January 31, 2018 Melson "Smitty" Martin Smith; devoted husband of Marie Smith (nee Hicks); beloved father of Barry Smith and his wife Lynne; loving "Pop Pop" Chris, Timm, and Ryan. Also survived by numerous great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at the Connelly Funeral Home of Essex, 300 Mace Avenue, on Friday, February 9th, 2018 at 12pm. Visitation hours will be from 11am - 12pm. Interment at Parkwood cemetery. Contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105
