I remember Uncle Sam being a lot of fun, and his children as well mannered and well educated. He was there for us when my mother, Mary Davis Jones Simpson, passed away many years ago. He used to play with us kids at Grannies when we had our 4th of July celebrations of her birth, a date that marked her entry into the USA! Patricia Lewis has been keeping me abreast of our marvelous history, and our processes and I send big kisses to her for letting me know. I will let my own family know as well. I am out here in San Francisco, and am sad I could not attend the funeral and see you all again.

Dad,
I know you are above in heaven looking down on us, and now at restful peace, know you will always be in our hearts, if you seen or felt a tear in our eye it was not from pain, but from truly missing you. Please know that you were never ever a burden to assist in your care, but quite the opposite a true pleasure to be with and help. Even recently many times when the day at work for me was hard or long, or I was out of town on business, when we spoke on the phone it changed instantly, just hearing your voice and knowing the smile that was there along with your words of wisdom and kindness. When I look at photos all I see is happiness.
Love you always and forever
Steve

Uncle Sam was such a jolly, light hearted family member. Even in tough times, he had a smile and some wise words. So sorry for your lost, Sandy, Sammy, Stanley, and all of those who were lucky to be close to this high spirited guy. If mass decays, but energy cannot be destroyed, as they say in physics, then he is around, for our thoughts and prayers. -Mary's daughter Debra

Thanks Sam for the memories. You and Miss Gert were the best Father-in-law / Mother-in-law a guy could wish Thanks for trusting me by giving me your only daughter's hand in marriage, I hope we have made you very happy.. Thanks for the times together, taking me to the racetrack and teaching me how to play the horses and place my bets. I'll remember the visits to the doctors, and dining out after, at the Mariner on the deck having your favorite fish sandwich, occasional refreshment and watching the boats, you always looked forward to the dining out. You will be greatly missed, Sandy and Steve stay strong. You were happy when you came home to Bank Street, and I'm sure you are happy now resting with God and Miss Gert. And for the first, only and last time, as one of our favorite comedians, Red Skelton would say, Good Night and may God Bless, POP ! Rest In Peace. .

Joe,
Thank you for the words to Pop and know that you had a special place with him as well.
I know he always looked forward to the subs and calls about the O's or a horse race.
Your continued support to Pop was always appreciated and never taken for granted.
Thank you,
Steve

Dear Stan & Family,
We were so sorry to hear of your Father's passing. We know that he was the greatest Dad because of how you spoke of him. You will miss him so very much, but take comfort in knowing that he is resting in God's arms in Heaven and you will see him again some day. I know your hurt, Stan., and know it will be with you forever. Think of all those great times you shared with him and hopefully, the memories will ease your pain.
Sending my prayers and keeping all of you in my heart,
Sue

Our condolences to Stan and his family on the passing of your Dad. He was a member of the Greatest Generation: they worked hard, appreciated the little things in life and cared. deeply. God certainly welcomed him with open arms, and will reward him with peace and happiness forevermore. May he be held in your hearts until you meet again.....❤
