Staff members of Connelly Funeral Home of Essex are caring and
experienced professionals who understand that each family is unique and has personal
requests and traditions. These requests and traditions are of utmost importance to our
staff of licensed funeral directors.
Through generation to generation, the Connelly family has continued a tradition of
personalized service for its surrounding communities. In 1924 John Gordon Connelly Sr.
opened the funeral home. Later in 1961 his two sons, John Gordon Connelly Jr. and Charles
O. Connelly Sr., relocated the funeral home to Mace Ave.
Today Terry Connelly (featured middle), a son of John Gordon Connelly Jr., is a licensed
mortician who is in charge of the family business. His brother, Greg Connelly (left), is
involved in the day-to-day business affairs of the Home. Terry Connelly Jr. (right) also a
licensed mortician is active in the family business.
During the 90's,Connelly Funeral Home of Essex has seen the enlargement of the building
and casket display room, and the addition of two offices, a large front portico with glass
foyer and a six car garage.
Connelly Funeral Home of Essex is a proud member of the National Funeral Directors
Association and The Maryland State Funeral Directors Association.
