Dixie E. (Thomas) Purkey

On February 1, 2018 Dixie E. Purkey; loving wife of the late Russell F. Purkey; devoted mother of Charles Purkey and his wife Charlene, Rodger Purkey and his wife Sheila, Gary Purkey and his wife Judi, Stephen Purkey and his wife Sherry, Sharon Jones and her husband William and James Edward Purkey, Sr.; cherished granny to James, Jr., Stephen Andrew, Rachael, Timothy, Shannon, Megan, William, Eric, Jason and Kimberly; dear great granny to Sofia, Colette, Stephen Charles, Haylee, Alexis, Ezra and Savannah; loving daughter of the late Bob and Mattie McCurry Thomas. Also survived by many loving family members and friends.

Funeral services will be held at the Connelly Funeral Home of Essex, 300 Mace Avenue, on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at 10am. Visiting hours will be Monday, February 5, 2018, 3-5 and 7-9 pm. Interment at Gardens of Faith Memorial Gardens.
