Douglas "Doug" Michael Poe

On August 22, 2018 Douglas "Doug" Michael Poe lost his hard fought battle with cancer and embarked on his journey to heaven to meet his Lord and his heavenly family. Doug loved his family immensely. Doug was the beloved husband of Robin E. Poe (nee Beilhart); devoted father of Thomas Michael Poe and his fiancee Stephanie and the late Brandon Douglas Poe; loving "Pop-Pop" of Hailee, Chase, Lyric and Sage; cherished son of the late Joseph and Goldie Poe; dear brother of Patricia Barnold and her husband John and the late Wayne Poe; dear brother-in-law of Earl "Skip" and Diane Beilhart; loving uncle of Karen and Jim Schriefer, Mike Von Rinteln, Mark Von Rinteln and his wife Dana, Tricia and Steve Vaughn and Ryan Beilhart. Also survived by many other loving relatives and friends. Doug was an accomplished drummer and played in the band "Boulevard". He loved jamming with his friends. He worked as a machinist and made many friends easily wherever he went. He was known for his crazy sense of humor, quick wit and ability to rhyme. He also loved the beach, baseball, trains and trains layouts. He loved his dogs and his cat who miss him. Doug loved to cook and was willing to try any variety of cuisine.

A memorial service will be held at the Connelly Funeral Home of Essex, 300 Mace Avenue on Sunday at 4 pm. Visiting hours will held on Sunday from 2-4 pm. Interment private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Douglas' honor to either the "Feed The Children", "ASPCA"," Shriner's Hospital "or "Operation Smile".
