On September 28, 2018 John William McEvoy loving husband of the late Elsie Lucille McEvoy (nee Putnam); devoted father of Deborah Urie, Helen Stevens and her husband Michael, the late Karen McEvoy and Linda Blackwell; beloved "Pop" of Jennifer, Kirk, Brittany and Christopher; cherished great grandfather of Ashley, Katelynn, Morgan, and Logan; loving great great grandfather of Ryan, Tristan and Kenzley; dear brother of Betty Hopkins and her husband the late Raymond Hopkins and the late Marie Foreman and her husband Joseph Foreman; beloved brother in-law of Don Hardesty and his wife Ellen. Also survived by many other loving relatives and friends.

A funeral service will be held at the Connelly Funeral Home of Essex, 300 Mace Avenue, on Wednesday at 11 am. Visiting hours will be held Tuesday from 3-5,7-9 pm. Interment at Gardens of Faith Memorial Gardens.
