On July 20, 2018 Michael Lee Downey, Sr. loving fiance of Melanie M. Lanehardt; devoted father of Michael L. Downey, Jr.; cherished son of Pat Downey and Sonny Downey and his wife Michelle; beloved brother of Leah Downey and Renee Fox and her husband Ryan; dear "Uncle Mike" of Ellie; faithful companion of Jax the dog. Also survived by many other loving relatives and friends.
A funeral service will be held at the Connelly Funeral Home of Essex, 300 Mace Avenue on Wednesday at 7:30 pm. Visiting hours are Wednesday from 3:00 - 9:00 pm.
Interment private.
In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations in the form of cash or gift cards that can be made to Melanie and Michael, Jr. to help with any upcoming family expenses.
