Nicole Dawn Wockenfuss-Church

Nicole Dawn Wockenfuss-Church, 44, passed away at home unexpectedly but peacefully on Saturday, June 16, 2018. She was born February 13, 1974 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Towson, MD, to James Edward and Marie Clara Wockenfuss. She was a 1997 graduate of College of Notre Dame of Maryland with a degree in Psychology. She has worked for more than a decade, as a crisis interventionist and resource coordinator, in the area of Sexual Abuse and Domestic Violence counseling. Her most recent service was at Greater Baltimore Medical Center, which she managed while also homeschooling her darling niece, Madeleine Graham. Many may relate Nikki’s memory to the tragic motorcycle accident in 1993 that took her leg and her Love. But none would define her by that terrible event. To the contrary, Nikki’s infectious smile, bellowing laugh, generous spirit, wise counsel, love of God, and ruthless honesty are the traits that first come to mind. The wheelchair for her was just a cross to bear. Nicole is survived by her loving mother, Marie; devoted sister, Tamarra; indefatigable brother, Jim; nieces and nephew, Madeleine Marie, Greta Marie, and Otto James; an excessive number of godchildren, family and friends. Any whose lives Nicole touched are invited to a memorial Mass at 12 pm on Saturday, June 23 at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 10003 Bird River Road. A celebration of Nikki's life will be held at 2 pm, at Chug A Mug, 121 Earls Road, Middle River, MD.
