Carolyn Grube (Grube) McMullen

Carolyn Grube McMullen, 87, passed away Thursday, February 19, 2026 surrounded by loved ones after a brief illness.

Born July 10,1938 in Baltimore, MD, she was the second eldest child of Frank W. Grube, Sr. and Alverta Alvina Sanders Grube.  Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 54 years, Jerry Anthony McMullen, Sr.: two sons, Jerry Anthony McMullen, Jr. and Michael Scott McMullen: six brothers, Glen Grube, Bruce Grube, Denwood Grube, Paul Grube, Wayne Grube Sr, and Frank Grube, Jr., and five sisters, Frances Hoppa, Alvina Usi, Gloria Schiedegger, Elsie Ludwig and Jaqueline Kelly.

Carolyn was an entrepreneur and passionate about her business, Legal Services Associates, which she ran for 42 years with her business partner, PC Price.  In addition to work, Carolyn loved reading, gardening and spending time with family.

Carolyn is survived by two daughters, Rella Corine Sessa and Heather Dawn Leonard: seven grandchildren, Carrie Sessa, Phillip (Tony) Sessa, Bradley McMullen, Lauri Mitchell, Jacob Atkins, Luke Embree and Elise Embree: four great-grandchildren, Logan Mitchell, Jaxon Mitchell, Addilyn McMullen and Azalea Embree, and one sister, Valerie Mercer and a large extended family. 

Carolyn had a generous heart. 

In lieu of flowers, donations to the charity of your choice can be made in her honor.

Visiting will be held at Connelly Funeral Home of Essex on Monday, March 9, 2026 from 11am-1pm with the funeral service following at 1pm.
