Cesar Picardal Libanan, 78 years old, passed away peacefully on May 12, 2026 after receiving the Last Rites and Apostolic blessings. He was surrounded by his family.
Cesar was a devoted husband to his loving wife, Cristina, with whom he shared 60 beautiful years of marriage filled with love, sacrifice, faith, and unwavering partnership. Together, they were blessed with six children: Maria Corazon, Carolina, Sister Mary Louis, Cynthia, Cesar Jr., and Celso, who will forever cherish the values, strength, and love he imparted to them.
A hardworking and dedicated man, Cesar spent most of his life working as a Chef onboard ships since the 1970s. Through his tireless work and sacrifices, he became a great provider for his family. Even during the later years of his life, he continued cooking with passion and dedication until his very last strength. His labor was always rooted in love for his wife, children, and grandchildren whom he deeply adored. Cesar was known for his wonderful sense of humor that brought laughter to many, yet he was also a firm and responsible father who disciplined his children with wisdom and care. He was a man whose actions reflected strength, integrity, generosity and compassion.
Above all, Cesar was a man of deep faith. He attended Holy Mass regularly and faithfully prayed the Holy Rosary every day. Throughout his illness, he endured pain and suffering with courage and dignity, fighting bravely until the very end. Those who witnessed his final moments shared that his face appeared radiant and peaceful — a reflection of a life well-lived and a soul prepared to meet God. Though sickness weakened his body, it never conquered his spirit. His legacy of love, self-sacrifice, fidelity to his Catholic faith, and perseverance will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. May God continue to bless his soul. “Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace. Amen.” Forever loved. Forever remembered.
