Dona J. Davis

On May 10th, 2026, Dona J. Davis (nee Shaner) passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family and friends. Born on December 3rd, 1937 to the late Verna and late William Shaner; she was the loving wife to the late Alvin Davis; devoted mother of Michael Ritz and his wife Karen, Deborah Corbett and her husband David, John Shoemaker Sr., Scott Shoemaker and his wife Christine, Steven Shoemaker; cherished grandmother of Peter, Sara, Jessica, Jennifer, John Jr., Shannon, Nick, Stephanie, and several great grandchildren; and dear sister of Winnie, Flo, Jim, Sandy, and Sonny.

A funeral service will be held at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 518 Franklin Avenue, Essex, MD 21221 on Saturday, May 16th at 11 AM with viewing times being held from 10 AM to 11 AM. Burial will be held privately at a later time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dona's name to the church.
