Eladia (Tirado) Castro

Eladia Castro. 93 years old of Dundalk, passed away in her home Tuesday, November 22, 2022.

Born May 8, 1929 in Puerto Rico, she was the daughter of the late Diego Tirado and Juana Tirado (Diaz).

Eladia is preceded in death by her husband, Cristobal Castro who passed in 1995.  She is also preceded in death by her son, Cristobal Castro, Jr. and her siblings, Cristina Tirado, Basilio Tirado and Damiana Tirado.

Surviving Eladia is her daughter, Milagro Ramirez and husband Elmer, and her grandchildren, Emma Zayas, Ahing Lee Castro and Erica Gene.  Also surviving her are great grandchildren, Elena Cristina Mae Hines, Ethan A. Quick, Emma Milagro Castro, Angel M. Castro, Alyssa Fleming, Andrew Emmitt Fleming, Khloe McDowell, Ahing Castro, Jr. as well as other great grandchildren.  Close family friend, Angelica Ramos of Brooklyn, NY also survives her.

Eladia was 4 foot 6 inches and extremely feisty.  She was protective of her family and was a wonderful mom, grandmother and great grandmother.  When she was young she was a dancer, studying ballet.  In her later years she enjoyed crocheting, singing, sewing, cooking and puzzle books.  She was an avid church member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church of Brooklyn, NY.

A Memorial Service will be held at the Connelly Funeral Home of Essex, 300 Mace Avenue on Friday, December 2nd, 2022 at 6 pm.
