Ella Marie (Dills) Biggerstaff

Ella Marie Dills Biggerstaff, "Marie" age 86, of Dundalk, Maryland passed away peacefully on September 27, 2019 after being in declining health for several months. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends and the many people whose lives she touched over the years.

Born January 24, 1933, she was a daughter of the late Jimmy and Maggie Vess Dills of Spindale, North Carolina. Marie attended Harris High School and later received her GED. She was a seamstress in the clothing industry, notably working for Head Ski Sportswear during the company's formative years in the 1970's. She enjoyed travelling, loved crafts and puzzles and was a member of First Baptist Church of Essex Maryland.

In addition to her parents, Marie was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Gene T. Biggerstaff; her son, Steven E. Biggerstaff; four brothers, James Dills, Lloyd Dills, Vernon Dills, Buddy Dills; and three sisters, Janelle Ruppe, Hathleen Couch, and Reba Biggerstaff.

Marie had a deep love for her family and friends. Left to cherish her memory are her son Marion E. Biggerstaff and wife Debbie of Severn Maryland; daughter-in-law Barbara Biggerstaff-Gibson; grandchildren Christopher D. Biggerstaff and wife Heidi of Pasadena Maryland; Ashley N. Wellein and her husband Eric, and one great-grandchild, Aubrey Wellein of Greenland Beach, Maryland; and one sister, Ruby Strader and husband Wayne of Spindale, North Carolina.

Friends may visit the family at Connelly Funeral Home of Essex on Wednesday, October 2, from 5-9 pm, with a memorial service at 8 pm. 

Funeral Services will be held in Forest City, North Carolina at Harrelson Funeral Chapel on Saturday, October 5. The family will receive visitors at 12 pm, followed by a memorial service at 1 pm and burial at Holly Springs Baptist Church cemetery.
