Evelyn Joyce Blades

Evelyn Joyce Blades, affectionately known as Joyce, age 99, passed away peacefully on March 25, 2025. She was born on February 1, 1926 to the late Albert and Jenette Rich; beloved wife of the late Elbert Allie Blades; devoted mother of Jan Meara (Blades) and her husband Robert, Larry Elbert Blades and his wife Genia, and the late Richard Garry Blades; cherished grandmother of Sarah Mae Blades Bugatti and her husband Tiziano Bugatti, and Zachary Elbert Blades; great grandmother of Liam Allie Blades; mother in law of Jo-Ann Blades; loving aunt of Kenny Abbott, the late David Abbott, the late Rick Abbott, and many other nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. Joyce is preceded in death by her siblings Mae Abbott and her late husband Harold and James Rich.

A viewing will be held at Connelly Funeral Home of Essex, 300 Mace Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21221 on Tuesday April 1 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm with a service starting at 7pm. A graveside service will be held at Sunny Ridge Memorial Park, St Peters Church Rd, Crisfield, MD 21817 on Wednesday April 2 at 1pm.
