Fannie Poklemba (nee Brooks), 97, peacefully passed away with her family by her side on March 17th, 2021. Mrs. Poklemba is preceded in Heaven by her loving husband Elmer. They were happily married for 76 years. She is survived by her two children Diana Faber and her husband Charles Faber of Glen Arm, MD, and Allen Poklemba and his wife Cheri Gaver Poklemba of Westminster, MD. She is also survived by three grandchildren; Christopher Poklemba and his wife Kristen of Hampstead, MD; Alexa Poklemba Hartner and her husband James of Middletown, MD; and Brooke Poklemba of Hermosa Beach, CA; eight great-grandchildren and twins on the way, Anslea, Addison, Olivia, Beckett(deceased) Hatrner; Cadence, Kensington, Cannon Poklemba and Gavin Hill. Mrs. Poklemba was born in Chestertown, MD in 1923, and is the daughter of Raymond and Gladys Brooks. Mrs. Poklemba loved her flowers, and watching her birds while sitting on her patio with her husband and family. She never missed a Sunday dinner with her husband or family. She was a devoted Christian speaking to Jesus and God in prayer each day. Mrs. Poklemba was loving, caring, sincere and generous to everyone she met. She never ended a conversation or phone call without saying, " I love you, and pray for you." She lived a simple life with a simple belief, " One day at a time Dear Jesus that's all I can ask from you, yesterday's gone and tomorrow may never be mine, thank you dear Jesus, Amen."
A funeral service will be held at the Connelly Funeral Home of Essex, 300 Mace Avenue on Monday, March 22nd, 2021 at 10 am. Visiting hours will be held on Monday, March 22nd, 2021 from 9:30 - 10 am.
Interment at Gardens of Faith Cemetery.
