It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Florence Patricia Carter, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, on January 16, 2025, at Virginia Hospital Center. Born on May 12, 1946, in Baltimore, Maryland, Patricia graced this world for 78 years, touching countless lives with her vibrant spirit and enduring love.
Pat is survived by her son, Spurgeon R. Carter, Jr. (Margo), and her cherished grandchildren: Domonic Carter (Helen), Spurgeon Carter III, Kayla Carter and Cameron Carter. Her legacy continues through her great-grandson, Leonidas Carter. Pat is also survived by her loving sister, Debbie Cole, her brother, Theodore Scott (Stephanie), brother-in-law, Michael Johnson, her beloved aunt, Marie Hawkins, god-daughter, Sharon McCullough and a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews. Pat had a special affection for her first Cousins in the McCray family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Earle and Catherine McCray; her sister, Sheila Johnson and her brother-in-law, Harry Cole.
Pat’s family will always remember her as a free-spirited, fashion-forward and loving woman who prioritized showing love to her family above all else.
Celebrating Pat’s Life
A Memorial Service to honor Pat’s life will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at Connelly Funeral Home of Essex, located at 300 Mace Ave, Baltimore, MD 21221
Visitation: 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Memorial Service: 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM
Following the service, a Repast will be held for family and friends to gather, share memories, have a meal and celebrate Pat’s life.
Repast: 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM
