Forrest 'Smitty' N. Smith

Forrest N. Smith, age 84, passed away peacefully on February 26, 2024. Affectionately known as Smitty, he was born on March 5, 1939 to the late Hoyt Smith and the late Vaneeta Smith (nee Whiten). Smitty is the beloved and devoted husband of over 65 years to Doris Smith (nee Shifflett); cherished father of Debra Smith and her husband Michael and Mark Smith and his wife Sheri; dear Pa of Dustin Smith, Lauren Szaroleta and her husband Jimmy, Logan Smith, Trevor Smith and great grandchildren Sophia Szaroleta, Klara Szaroleta, and J.J. Szaroleta; caring brother of Leon Smith, Tyrus Smith, Brenda Cobb, Glenda Kellett, John Smith, David Smith, Larry Smith, Connie Nicholson, the late Bruce Smith and the late Roy Smith. Also survived by other loving relatives and friends.

A viewing will be held at Connelly Funeral Home of Essex, 300 Mace Ave, Essex MD 21221 on Friday from 2-4pm and 6-8pm. A funeral service will take place Saturday at 9am followed by burial at Sacred Heart of Jesus Cemetery.
