On January 1, 2026 George G. Karalekas, 63, passed away surrounded by love, leaving behind a legacy of devotion, integrity, and family-centered joy.
Born in Stamford, Connecticut, and raised in Lutherville, Maryland, George carried with him the values of hard work, loyalty, and kindness throughout his life. Above all else, George was a devoted family man. His greatest pride and deepest joy came from those he loved, and he dedicated his life to providing, supporting, and being present for his family in every way.
George enjoyed life's simple pleasures, especially "golf and fishing", hobbies that reflected his patience, focus, and appreciation for time spent outdoors. Whether on the coarse or by the water, he found peace and contentment, often happiest when those moments were shared with family and friends.
Professionally, George built a distinguished 35-year career in the distributing business, earning the respect of colleagues and partners alike. His work ethic, reliability, and integrity defined his career and left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of working with him.
George is survived by his beloved wife, Lisa Karalekas (nee Votolato); devoted father of George, and Alexandra(Mihai); loving "Papou" of Ronan, who brought him immeasurable joy; dear brother of Stacy Calos(Andrew), and Paula Steber; cherished uncle of Christopher(Athena), Michael, Katie, and Nicholas(Courtney), along with other loving family members and friends.
George will be remembered for his steady presence, generous heart, and unwavering love for his family. His memory will live on in the lives he touched, the values he instilled, and the love he gave so freely.
