Harry Carroll Allender

On December 4, 2023, Harry C. Allender passed away; devoted husband of the late Elizabeth (Tootie) A. Allender (nee Simmons);  beloved father of Elizabeth (Tootie) A. Davidson and her husband Anthony L. Davidson Jr., Dora Lee (Sissie) Wilson and husband Chris Wilson; Harry (Chuck) C. Allender, Jr and wife Kathleen Allender; loving Pop Pop and Poppy of Gary, Angela, Tony, Michael, Cindy, Kelly, Cassidy and Taylor; loving Pop Pop (great grandfather) of Khyra, Elianna, Aleeya and Percy; predeceased by 3 siblings.  Also survived by many loving relatives.

Harry was an Army veteran in Japan--a Private First Class in the Military Police.  After leaving the Army, he enjoyed a 31-year career in the Baltimore City Police Department, rising through the ranks as a police officer to Colonel, retiring in 1986.  He loved the work and told many fascinating stories.

A memorial service will be held at the Connelly Funeral Home of Essex, 300 Mace Ave., Baltimore MD 21221 from 2 to 4 pm on Saturday, December 30, 2023.  A Military Honors Ceremony will take place at 3:30 p.m. We invite all to share your memories.

Interment will be held at the Garrison Forest Veterans Cemetary at a later date.
