Irma has gone home to be with the Lord. Though her health deteriorated rapidly, her mind was clear and strong to the end.

Irma was born in Germany to Freida & Herman Wronowski. She married Herman Sofinowski on 1/24/1948. She worked for a department store in her youth, a munitions factory during the war, and Baltimore County Schools Food Service for over 25 years. She enjoyed polka and square dancing, traveling and a variety of crafts. She was an active life member in the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary in many positions including President at VFW 6506, and achieved the high honor of serving as Department of Maryland President 2009-2010.

Irma was preceded in death by Herman, her mother Frieda, father Herman, stepfather Eitel Duda and brother Fred Wronowski.

She is survived by Beverly Stewart, Donna Sofinowski and Lowell Hash, Sharon Ganzler, her brother Raymond Duda and his wife Wanda, 6 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
