Jean Miller Cummins Obituary

Jean Susan “Sue” Miller-Cummins (née Walsh), 76, of Baltimore, Maryland, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family, on the evening of February 5, 2024.

A high school graduate with some college education, Sue enjoyed a career as an administrative professional, primarily in healthcare settings. In her spare time, and especially during her retirement, Sue enjoyed gardening, hosting family gatherings, shopping, and feeding and watching the neighborhood birds. Inheriting a skill for crafting from her mother, Charlotte Walsh (née Haas), Sue was also known for her countless needlepoint projects. A voracious reader and true crime enthusiast, she enjoyed a good cup of coffee or diet Pepsi while reading a book from her vast collection, or watching her favorite show, “Judge Judy.” She will be missed for her trademark sass, sense of humor, and catchphrase (“oh, the glamor”).

Sue is predeceased by her devoted husband, Arthur McKim Cummins (b. 1934, d. 2023), and sister, Janet Schneider (née Walsh). Sue is survived by loving daughter, Shannon Terry (née Miller); son-in-law, Matthew Terry; grandchildren, Frederick Butler, Sarah Miller and her husband Kevin Grande; brother, Frederick Walsh; brother-in-law, Alfred Danisch; nephew, Michael Rapp; nieces, Charlotte Bailey, Susan Rapp, and Kellie Krs; and beloved canine companion, Hoover.

To honor her wishes, the family will not be holding a funeral. She will be interred with her husband at Holly Hills Memorial Gardens. A celebration of life will be held in the coming spring or summer, with details to be announced by the family at a future date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Sue’s favorite charities, the Bea Gaddy Family Center or BARCS Animal Rescue.
