Joanne Gertrude (Farley) Hall, 89, of Essex, Maryland, peacefully passed away at Complete Care at Heritage in Dundalk, Maryland on March 15, 2025. She was born on May 4, 1935, the daughter of Simon Joseph and Gertrude Esther (Parrish) Farley in Boone, Iowa. She graduated from Boone High School in 1953 and attended the University of Northern Iowa.
She was very fun loving in nature, had the gift of gab and was voted most friendly in her senior year of high school. She adored her family and had a heart of gold. She loved sports, traveling and taking bus trips. She enjoyed playing card games, especially bridge and trying new foods. She was also very active at the Essex Co-Op in her later years, serving on numerous committees. She ensured each resident received a birthday and Christmas card, so they did not feel forgotten.
Joanne was preceded in death by her son Scott Wesley Hall, brothers Robert Farley, Richard Farley, Donald Farley and Marvin Farley and sister, Marjorie (Farley) Murphy. Joanne is survived by her daughter, Catherine Joanne Hall, grandsons, Scott Wesley Hall Jr., Samuel Joseph Hall and numerous nieces and nephews.
According to her wishes, she was cremated and will be buried at Linwood Cemetery near her parents.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
