John Brown, Sr. Obituary

John L., 82, of East Orange, NJ, passed away on Wednesday, Dec 3rd, at Autumn Lake Healthcare Post Acute Care Center. He was born in Dawson County, Georgia to the late John Will Brown and Lula Mae Williams Brown. He was their eldest son.

In his younger days, John L., enjoyed various hobbies: Driving motorcycles, sports & luxury cars, karate, and weightlifting. He attended Essex County Community College in Newark, NJ, where he obtained his Business Diploma. This sparked his passion for Entrepreneurship. John L. established his company, Brown & Sons Construction, Inc. in East Orange, NJ. He then went on to established his Tractor Trailor Business in Plainfield, NJ.

At 19, He met and was united in holy matrimony to his lovely bride Rosie Mae Williams. They fell in love in 1962 and married in Newark, NJ in 1963. Their union was blessed with five children: Cynthia (Lynn) Moon, John L. (Therese) Brown, Jr., Tony L. (Mona) Brown, Lawrence Brown, and Rosemary H. Brown.

On Oct 4, 1997, John L. & his wife Rosie, were both baptized as Jehovah Witnesses at the same assembly program.

Mr. Brown leaves behind to mourn: his lovely wife Rosie, five children, and five siblings (Carrie Artis, Eddie (Cynthia) Brown, Gregory (LaNita) Hargett, Jessie (Antoinette) Brown, and Sheila (Francis) Wiredu), 15 grandchildren and a whole host of great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

His deceased family members: Mercedes VanLiew, Sammie Brown, John H. Brown, Doris Brown, Lottie Bonds, and Lawrence Brown, Jr.

The family acknowledges with sincere appreciation the many kind deeds and comforting expressions of sympathy extended to them in their time of sorrow.
