Lylian Eloise “Ellie” Acord, beloved mother, grandmother, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on January 1, 2026, at the age of 95.
Born on April 10, 1930, in Dundalk, Maryland, Ellie lived a life full of love, kindness, and devotion to her family. Her kitchen was always a place of comfort—whether she was preparing meals for her grandsons or hosting Thanksgiving dinner. She could often be found with a word search or a good book in hand, a slice of raisin bread or a cup of coffee nearby, savoring quiet moments until it was time to cheer for her favorite football team, the BALTIMORE RAVENS, on game day.
Her family was her greatest joy, and she leaves behind a legacy of love and strength.
Ellie is survived by Kay Haw and Chet Walton; Justin, Kari, and Kaili Haw; Annie Westley; and Nala Haw. Preceded in death by her beloved husband, Victor. She joins him and her grandson, Jeremy Haw, in eternal rest.
A viewing will be held in Utah on Wednesday, January 7th, at Myers Mortuary, 5865 S 1900 W, Roy, UT 84067, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM for her local family and friends who wish to pay their respects.
A separate viewing will be held in Maryland on Saturday, January 10th, at Connelly Funeral Home of Essex, 300 Mace Avenue, Essex, MD 21221, from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM for her hometown family and friends. A graveside service will immediately follow at Holly Hill Memorial Gardens, 10201 Bird River Road, Baltimore, MD 21220.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Best Friends Animal Society or The Humane Society of the United States.
Ellie will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her passion for life’s simple pleasures, and the love she poured into every cookie, loaf of raisin bread, and moments shared with family and friends.
