Lynn Ann Dean, age 61,of Essex, Maryland, passed away of natural causes on Easter Sunday, April 5th, 2026, at 12:29 pm. She was happily recovering at home from long standing hospital visit when the event occurred.
On April 10th of 1964, Alton Willis Sisk and Betty Lee Sisk brought their last child into the world, Lynn Ann Sisk. She grew up in Cumberland, Maryland, and spent her adolescence on the family farm where her grit and understanding of even the smallest of traits was made.
Lynn had many talents beyond farmer’s grit. Her skill as a pianist gave her an unconventional head start in the technological world as a fast-paced typer. Once she graduated from Alleghany High School and obtained her associate’s degree at Alleghany Community College, she moved to D.C. and started a business with a colleague transcribing court recordings. This was only the start of her time in D.C. as she is most recognized for her 23 years of work at Edison Electric Institute as a Project Manager, starting in 1987. While working at EEI it became evident that she was a natural born leader with the ability to listen, learn, and teach her colleagues to understand. This compelled her to complete a bachelor’s degree in businesses management at Phoenix University in 2005.
Beyond managing company projects and events Lynn was able to go behind the website and manage data analytics, her unique determination to excel in a variety of fields showed in all that she achieved. She continued to work in consulting and managing, mentoring her associates, and teaching them with the dedication and thoughtfulness that she is known for. Not only did she build a career around managing travel, but she also took time to explore Europe, sharing her love of music and knowledge of destinations with her late husband, Lance Nicholson, throughout their life together.
A nurturing mother, Lynn, gave birth to 4 spectacular children. She did as all mothers do and dedicated her life to benefit of her kids; in that she showed true selflessness. She concurred many battles in her life and came out on top of everyone just as gracious and sympathetic as she was before. The hardships of life never affected how she treated those around her, always wore a smile, and welcomed anyone with open arms. Coming full circle once she retired, she moved to Bruceton Mills, West Virginia, not that far from her hometown, where she could be in the mountains again and enjoy a more peaceful lifestyle.
Lynn was preceded in death by her father, Alton Willis Sisk; her mother, Betty Lee Sisk; her son, Garrett Alton Dean; her brother in-law, James Antal; and her beloved, Lance Nicholson: she leaves behind her three children, Rayford Dean Jr., Samantha Dean, and Jeremiah Dean; her sister, Donna Antal ; her brother, James Whitman; the father of her children, Rayford Dean Sr.; her many nieces and nephews; her extended family in England and her close friends from all around the world who will miss her presence greatly.
Lynn’s kindness and unwavering spirit inspired all who came across her. The memories of her beautiful smile, and the shared experiences she had will live on forever in those who loved her.
