Paul G. Renfrow, Sr.

On December 17th, 2023, Paul G. Renfrow, Sr. passed away. Born on December 30th, 1930 to the late Mittie and late Thomas Renfro, he was the loving husband of the late Rose Marie Renfrow (nee Kalb); devoted father of Paul G. Renfrow, Jr. and wife Betsy, Barbara Engel, Ray Renfrow; cherished grandfather of Wesley Engel, Michelle Engel, Ryan Renfrow, Jennifer Renfrow; dear great grandfather of Gaven Zeller, Brooke Engel, Levi Engel, and Garret Bertuzzi. Paul was preceded in death by his siblings the late Ray Renfro, the late Ruby Adkins, the late Tom B. Renfro, the late Ella Vanover, the late Cecil Renfro, and the late Jesse Renfro.

Paul was a proud enlistee with the U.S. Marine Corp, serving from 1948-1952.  He was employed by Bethlehem Steel Corporation at the Sparrows Point Plant as a police officer for 34 years.  Additionally,  he owned and operated a 110-acre farm raising beef and pork in Harford County, Maryland.  His passion was playing his Gibson guitar, singing country western songs to all who would listen.  He also enjoyed hunting and fishing.

A public visitation will be held at Connelly Funeral Home of Essex, 300 Mace Ave. on Wednesday, December 20th from 1 PM to 4 PM. A funeral service will begin at 4 PM. Paul's cremated remains will be interred at Sacred Heart of Jesus Cemetery in Dundalk privately at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Paul's honor to the Essex/Holly Neck VFW, Post 2621, Essex, MD 21221, where he served as a Veteran Service Officer for years.
