On January 21, 2020 Ronald William Mercer, Sr. devoted husband of Grace R. Mercer (nee Cornelius); beloved father of Victoria Mercer-Brooks, Tamara Mercer, Jennifer Martinek and the late Ronald W. Mercer, Jr. ;dear brother of Philip Johnston, Linda Betz and the late Shirley Howard; loving brother-in-law of Lorma Foster and Bessie Shaffer. Also survived by 14 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at the Connelly Funeral Home of Essex, 300 Mace Avenue on Saturday at 8 pm. Visiting hours will be held on Saturday from 3 - 5 and 7 - 9 pm.

Interment private.
