It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Theodis “Theo” Lionel Loyd,
who passed away peacefully on February 14, 2025.
“In life we loved you dearly. In death we love you still. In our hearts you hold a place, no one else will ever fill”
Theodis Loyd was born on July 26, 1968 in Newton, Louisiana, to parents
Robert Loyd Sr., and Helen Loyd. Theo confessed his life to Christ at an early
age at Mount Pisgah Baptist Church in Toledo, Ohio. He fell in love, got
married, and that union produced a beautiful gift, Theondra Loyd, whom he loved endlessly .
Theo was a graduate of Scott High School class of 86' in Toledo, Ohio.
Theo was an enthusiastic Pittsburgh Steelers fan and was a collector of many
Steelers’ memorabilia. He was a deep thinker , and was very sociable to
everyone he met or worked alongside. He had a distinct sense of humor that
would capture his audience's attention. In his pastime he enjoyed fishing, working on cars,
attending Super Bowl gatherings, and family reunions.
Theo served his country in the Navy before he was honorably discharged. He
then worked several jobs including pool servicing before his employment at PALL Corporation.
Theo will be remembered for his kindness and his love for his family and
friends. He loved with all his heart and lived a full life sharing his gifts and​
talents with all. While his passing comes with great sadness, he will be dearly
missed, as his passing will be felt deeply by loved ones and those who knew him best.
Theo is survived by his parents, Robert Loyd Sr., and Helen Loyd; his
daughter , Theondra Loyd; his siblings Robert Lloyd Jr., and Jacqueline Stroud
(Louis); a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family. Preceding
him in joining the Lord was his brother Reginald “Ray” Loyd.
Theo’s family extends their heartfelt appreciation to everyone who has shared
their support during this time of great loss.
A viewing will be held at Connelly
Funeral Home of Essex from 10:00AM - 12:00PM, 300 Mace Avenue,
Baltimore MD 21221 on February 26, 2025.
A funeral service will follow at the
funeral home from 12:00PM - 1:00PM.
Afterward, the burial will be at
Oak Lawn Cemetery 7225 Eastern Avenue, Baltimore MD 21224 .
