Theodis "Theo" Loyd Obituary

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Theodis “Theo” Lionel Loyd,

who passed away peacefully on February 14, 2025.

“In life we loved you dearly. In death we love you still. In our hearts you hold a place, no one else will ever fill”

Theodis Loyd was born on July 26, 1968 in Newton, Louisiana, to parents

Robert Loyd Sr., and Helen Loyd. Theo confessed his life to Christ at an early

age at Mount Pisgah Baptist Church in Toledo, Ohio. He fell in love, got

married, and that union produced a beautiful gift, Theondra Loyd, whom he loved endlessly .

Theo was a graduate of Scott High School class of 86' in Toledo, Ohio.

Theo was an enthusiastic Pittsburgh Steelers fan and was a collector of many

Steelers’ memorabilia. He was a deep thinker , and was very sociable to

everyone he met or worked alongside. He had a distinct sense of humor that

would capture his audience's attention. In his pastime he enjoyed fishing, working on cars,

attending Super Bowl gatherings, and family reunions.

Theo served his country in the Navy before he was honorably discharged. He

then worked several jobs including pool servicing before his employment at PALL Corporation.

Theo will be remembered for his kindness and his love for his family and

friends. He loved with all his heart and lived a full life sharing his gifts and

talents with all. While his passing comes with great sadness, he will be dearly

missed, as his passing will be felt deeply by loved ones and those who knew him best.

Theo is survived by his parents, Robert Loyd Sr., and Helen Loyd; his

daughter , Theondra Loyd; his siblings Robert Lloyd Jr., and Jacqueline Stroud

(Louis); a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family. Preceding

him in joining the Lord was his brother Reginald “Ray” Loyd.

their support during this time of great loss.
