Vera Gay (Smith) Simmons

On June 17, 2026 Vera Gay Simmons (nee Smith) passed away; devoted wife of Gerald A. Simmons Sr; beloved mother of Bonnie Pelletier and her husband Ronald, Marjorie Bergman and her husband Donn, and Gerald A. Simmons Jr; loving grandmother of Lianne, Christina, Jessica, Jared, Alexis, Morgan, Brooke and Peyton; cherished great-grandmother of Gwendolyn, Emma, Liam, Josephine, Logan and Tatum; loving daughter of the late Claude and the late Louise Smith; dear sister of Linda Kerns, the late Claude Smith Jr, the late Audrey Hines, and the late Evelyn Johnson. Also survived by other loving relatives and friends.

A visitation will be held at the Tabernacle Baptist Church, 121 Bennett Rd. Essex MD 21221 on Tuesday, June 23rd, 2026 from 11 am - 12 noon. Funeral Services will start immediately after the visitation at 12 noon.

Interment at Bel Air Memorial Gardens.
