Veta Wright

Veta Wright, born on April 12, 1936, in Jamaica, West Indies, passed away peacefully on September 21, 2024, at Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. She was 88 years old.

Veta was the beloved daughter of Samuel Wright and Luella Harris, and the cherished sister to Elizian, James, Mabel, Martha, Iris, Joyce, Blanche, Viviene, Vincent, and Lileath. She leaves behind her two devoted sons, Desmond Williams and Withbourne Robinson, along with six grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, extended family, including Maggie, Denise, Dean, Sean, and the Simmons family, and friends who loved her dearly.

Veta was a remarkable woman gentle, compassionate, and selfless. She was known for her kindness, always ready to give you the last dollar in her pocket if you needed it. She never looked down on others or made anyone feel less than dignified. Veta was a true blessing to all who knew her, embodying the love and grace of a woman of God.

Her spirit of generosity and her unwavering faith touched the lives of many, and she will be remembered as a beacon of light and love. Veta’s legacy of compassion and humility will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.

Her memory will be cherished forever by those who had the privilege of knowing her.

Rest in peace, Veta Wright. You will be deeply missed.

A Memorial Service will be held at the Connelly Funeral Home  of Essex, 300 Mace Avenue on Sunday, October 13th, 2024 from 12 noon - 2 pm.
