Wayne Thomas Wilson, Sr.

On October 1, 2020, Wayne Wilson, Sr. passed away at home surrounded by family. Wayne fought a courageous battle against throat cancer. 

Wayne was born on November 10, 1966 to William (Bill) Wilson, Sr. and Rose Wilson and grew up in Essex, Maryland. He is survived by his mother, Rose, his three sons, Wayne Wilson, Jr., Alex Wilson, and Eric Wilson, as well as his three loving siblings, Laura (Joel) Deutsch, William (Bill) Wilson, Jr., and Scott (Debra) Wilson. He was also an uncle, nephew, cousin and friend to many. 

Wayne was an avid sports fan and his love of sports and competitive spirit started at a young age playing little league sports and eventually leading the Chesapeake High School football team to many wins. After graduation, he went on to play semi-pro with the Baltimore Bears. On Sundays, Wayne could be found cheering on the Ravens at M&T Bank Stadium as an original season ticket holder. Wayne was always the life of the party and was the first to the dance floor at family weddings and celebrations.

Viewing to be held on Saturday, October 3, 2020 from 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm and 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm. at Connelly Funeral Home of Essex, 300 Mace Avenue. Service will be held at 7:30 pm.
