William A. Carter, Sr.

William A. Carter, Sr., age 80, passed away peacefully on June 18, 2024. He was born on July 21, 1943 to the late Maurice and Rose (nee Councilman) Carter. He is the beloved husband of over 54 years to Clara Carter (nee Sanders); cherished father of Robert (Beverly) E. Carter, Michele (Sean) Markley, Robin (Ron) Duckworth, the late William A. Carter, Jr., and the late Jeffrey Mabe; loving grandfather of Hunter Markley, Logan Markley, Hannah Markley, Kelly Markley, Austin (Kathleen Pelosi-Carter) Carter, Auriel (Ricardo Hernandez) Carter, Autumn (Cornnel) Norman, Leila Carter, Christina Duckworth and great grandfather of Eli Stuart, KJ Stuart, Lily Hernandez, Santiago Hernandez, Miles Norman, Ezra Norman, Leo Norman, and Ari Norman; dear brother of Ronald L. (Sheila) Carter; also survived by other loving relatives and friends.

A viewing will be held at Connelly Funeral Home of Essex, 300 Mace Ave, Essex MD 21221 on Thursday, June 27 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm. A funeral service will take place on Friday, June 28 at 11am followed by burial at Holy Hill Memorial Gardens.
