Yvonne Marie (Gilner) Maunes

On July 14, 2024 Yvonne Marie Maunes (nee Gilner) passed away; devoted wife of the late Albert R. Maunes; beloved mother of Sandy Myers and her husband Keith, Jeff Maunes and the late Karen Bohle; loving grandmother of Lauren Myers and her husband Kasey Haggerty, Scott Myers, Kara Maunes, Kelly Maunes, Bryce Bohle and Brooke Bohle; cherished daughter of the late James Gilner and the late Marie Gilner; dear sister of the late Patricia McDonald and the late James Gilner Jr., dear sister in law to Elaine Gilner and Mildred Staniewicz, special cousin to Julia Nardi and many other loving relatives, friends and health care providers who will miss her dearly and supported her during her illness. 

Yvonne grew up in Highlandtown and attended St. Elizabeth’s Catholic School and the Catholic High School of Baltimore.  Yvonne worked as a hair stylist for more than 30 years, owning and managing her own hair salon in the Highlandtown area of Baltimore. 

Yvonne loved to spend time with her family and friends, cheering for the Ravens, Orioles and Lady Terp Basketball team, watching her favorite soap operas, Days of our Lives and General Hospital and playing the Maryland Lottery- Scratch Off games. 

Attending morning mass at St. Clare’s Catholic Church was part of her daily routine as well as having weekly breakfast at the Essex area diners with her church friends and sister-in-law, Elaine.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Clare Catholic Church, 714 Myrth Avenue, on Monday, July 22nd, 2024 at 10 am. Visiting hours will be held at the Connelly Funeral Home of Essex, 300 Mace Avenue on Sunday, July 21st, 2024 from 2:30 pm - 6:30 pm.

Interment at Oak Lawn Cemetery
